This verdant soccer training facility in France shows its love for all things turf by expanding its pitch right onto its roof! The Centre de Formation de Football in Amiens consists of a facility and office space to support the athletes right alongside a field where the team practices. Designed by Chartier – Corbasson and finished in 2009, the facility is sure to inspire its athletes and maybe even provide for some interesting drills while playing on the roof.

View Tube: A Two Floor Lime Green Shipping Container Cafe in London
Who wouldn’t want to have a spot of afternoon tea at this delightful lime green shipping container cafe overlooking the site of the London 2012 Olympics? Dubbed the View Tube, the eatery and gallery caught our eye this morning, and upon further investigation we found out that the charming structure is 100% recycled, has motion sensor controlled lighting, low energy light bulbs, solar controlled glass and weather compensation controlled heating. While we won’t be getting shipped off to the UK ourselves to check out the colorful building in person, props to Bonnie Alter of Treehugger for her original photography of the space.

Lab Unveils First 3 Layered Solar Panel That Catches Full Solar Spectrum
Solar panels are great, but they’ve got one huge problem. On average, they only catch about 15% of the sun’s rays and scientists are scrambling to find a way to increase that efficiency — using mirrors and even the shaping them like origami. Well, RoseStreet Labs might just have a solution – they’ve created a thin film solar panel that integrates three separate layers of PV cells into one panel. Each layer captures a different part of the sun’s spectrum bringing the total efficiency above 35%.

Taipei Restaurants: Toasteria
Restaurant Review
Taipei Restaurant: Toasteria
Take a plain grilled cheese sandwich, add some pesto, sun-roasted tomatoes, and some grilled mushrooms and you’ve got a modern twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich.
Toasteria has turned grilled Panini sandwiches into an art form, and with over twenty styles of sandwiches to choose from, we promise you’ll find at least one grilled creation on the menu to call your own.
The tiny open-air sandwich café is snuggled in between Alleycat’s Pizza and Sante in Zhongxiao Dunhua’s district. On any given day, you’ll find their front patio packed with sandwich lovers.
If you’re not into sandwiches, I highly recommend the fish and chips.
Weight-watchers beware. Toasteria uses only the best ingredients and there are no substitutes. You won’t find any diet beverages or low-fat choices on the menu here.
Meals range from NT$140-NT $250.
